Family Christmas Activities



There's TONS of holiday activities in the area...some in MoCo, some in the metro area, some for free, some for small fees.  Take a look, or suggest your own!

(side note, whoever's doing Seneca Creek Park's marketing, these events sound amazing!)

Leashes N Lights - November 18th 5-9pm, Seneca Creek State Park, View the Gaithersburg Winter Lights Festival from a new perspective as you and your dog takes a 3-mile stroll through the lights.

Dreamworks Experience at Gaylord National Resort. November 16-January 6th,  Join characters from Shrek, Madagascar, and Kung Fu Panda...all on ice!  Two million pounds of colorful, hand-carved ice slides and sculpturthe Gaithersburg Winter Lights Festival from a new perspective as you and your dog take a 3-mile stoll through the lights.

The Nutcracker - Dec 14-16 and 21-23, There will be countless Nutcracker performances in the area.  Here's one that's local playing at Montgomery College, Rockville campus.  OR the Metropolitan 
Ballet's Nutcraker  (my former ballet and jazz school) at the same location but dates from November 30 - December 9th.

Cut your own Christmas Tree @ Butler's Orchard - Germantown, MD, visit the holiday shop, order holiday pies, apples and sweet apple cider.  Carefully pruned White Pines and Douglas Firs to choose and cut.  They provide a saw and free shaking and baling.

A Christmas Carol - Ford's Theatre, November 16 - December 30th, Recommended for ages 5 and up. Bah humbag!
