The Washington Post, who bought The Gazette back in 1992, announced it will shut down the Montgomery County Gazette on August 11, 2015. The free weekly paper will be shut down eliminating 12 reporter and 2 photographer jobs. It will affect a total of 69 employees who are based out of their Gaithersburg office.
